Hello,

Welcome to the Lale Lab. We are an interdisciplinary research group working at the interface of biophysics, computational biology, synthetic biology, and AI-driven biological design. We are located in Trondheim, Norway @ NTNU

We aim to understand and predict how gene expression is regulated in microorganisms, and to use this knowledge to enable rational engineering of biological systems.

Our work combines high-throughput experimentation with computational modelling to link DNA sequence to function across diverse microbial contexts.

Research

We investigate transcriptional and translational regulation in microorganisms, with the aim of uncovering the principles governing gene expression and translating these into predictive and engineering frameworks.
